Skywards is the programme for Emirates and flydubai. Emirates isn't in an alliance, so status benefits apply on Emirates and its partner airlines rather than across a whole alliance.

Earning
Emirates doesn't publish a table of Tier Miles by route and fare. The Miles Calculator on emirates.com shows the figure for any flight, and you can enter it into our calculator to see your progress. Higher fare types and cabins earn more, and Skywards Miles, the ones you spend, include a tier bonus for status members.

Platinum also needs at least one Business or First Class flight. You keep a tier by earning the same again in the 12 months after reaching it.
Recent and upcoming changes
- Promotion ended 31 August 2026. From May to August, members could reach or keep a tier with 80% of the usual targets.
- Miles expiry from 1 June 2027. Newly earned Skywards Miles will expire three years after the activity, at the end of that month, instead of at the end of your birth month.
Who it suits
Frequent Emirates flyers, especially in the Gulf or on routes through Dubai. The flight-count route suits people who take many shorter flights.
