Oman Air Sindbad guide
Rules checked October 5, 2026
Sindbad is the program of Oman Air, which joined oneworld in 2025. The miles you can spend depend on the price of your ticket. Your tier depends on tier points, which come from the cabin and distance of each flight and from how much you spend, and only on Oman Air flights.
At a glance
| Alliance | oneworld |
|---|---|
| How you earn miles | 4 Sindbad miles per US dollar of the ticket price, 5 for Silver and 6 for Gold |
| Status currency | Tier points, earned only on Oman Air |
| Qualifying period | Any 12 months in a row |
| Levels | Blue, Silver, Gold |
Sindbad miles
On Oman Air flights you earn 4 miles for every US dollar spent on the ticket price. That includes the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges but excludes airport taxes and government fees. Silver members earn 25% more (5 miles per dollar) and Gold members 50% more (6 miles per dollar). Flights that are both operated and marketed by Oman Air earn miles, but codeshares it doesn't operate do not. A few exceptional fares earn by booking class and distance instead.
Tier points
| Cabin | Under 1,200 miles | 1,200 to 4,500 miles | Beyond 4,500 miles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy | 20 | 30 | 40 |
| Business | 40 | 60 | 80 |
| Business Studio | 50 | 80 | 100 |
You also earn 100 tier points for every US$1,000 spent on Oman Air flights. Oman Air's example is that a Muscat to London return earns 80 tier points in Economy and 160 in Business, which doesn't match the distance bands above, so the calculator asks you to enter the tier points shown in your account.
Status
| Level | Tier points | oneworld |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | 500 in any 12 months in a row | Ruby |
| Gold | 1,100 in any 12 months in a row | Sapphire |
Silver and Gold last one year from the month you reach them. You renew with a further 500 or 1,100 tier points before they expire, and extra tier points aren't carried forward. Sindbad miles can't be converted into tier points.
